Kyla wearing her custom, bespoke suit!  She chose the fabric, lining, buttons, pocket style etc.  Please note I'm a much better tailor than photographer!

Winter is here so a fun fur cape and hat were in order!  The quality of the fur is so fine it looks real, also had to be sewn like real fur, a lot by hand!

Summer Capsule Collection 2018!  A few days work for a good cause, my wardrobe!!!

Some gym shirts with a twist, literally! Along with a custom designed dress with fabric that was woven in the 1930s!!!

A beautiful bride who needed some alterations who came from New York to have her gowns altered!

Take a look at some more pictures from the fashion show.  click here

Bridge course outfits created in class, these are the second outfits the students created for themselves or each other.  The results are AMAZING!  Very proud of these ladies.

This is a chiffon dress with a double circle skirt and rouched bodice. The collar is from book 2 and was a challenge to install! But in the end it was worth the effort.

Nicole's shirt, she chose the fabrics and colours and I did the construction, a good collaboration indeed!

Picture
Nicole's shirt turned out really very well!  It's a cotton/poly with a bit of spandex blend so very comfortable to wear and the ruffle looks smocked but it's not, the trick is...... well I'm not going to say what the trick is, I'm going to let you guess!

The picture does not do it justice, it will shape Nicole beautifully and show off her curvaceous body nicely.  This is truely a case of the clothes fitting the body not the body fitting the clothes!

Nicole has ordered several more shirts similar to this so to be financially effecient I will use the same pattern for the body and sleeves of the shirts changing the cuffs and collars along with different colour fabrics they will look completely different.  Once a pattern fits well it can be used over again with some minor changes the wearer will have many different, well fitting garments.

NO MORE OFF THE RACK FOR THIS GIRL!

Wedding gown that fit like a glove!

Picture
This gown was created for Sandy who married her high school sweetheart almost 50 years after graduating!  She wanted something really special and chose a beautiful lace column dress lined with an off white taffeta.  The wedding took place in Orillia ON at the Leacock museum.  Here is Sandy walking down the "aisle" with her brother. What a beautiful setting!  The gown was absolutely perfect for Sandy who wanted something simple and elegant but sexy at the same time.

Sofia looking beautiful as a godmother in her Chanel inspired summer tweed jacket and silk hocksack weave dress. The fascinator created by Le Petit Chapeau completed the outfit.

Here is a sampling of garments created using the European Pattern Drafting technique

TEAM GEORGIAN HAS BEEN ASSEMBLED!

Create clothes that fit the body, not the body fit the clothes

Picture
Learn how to create a beautiful gown such as Jessica is wearing or just a simple dress, top, skirt or pants that actually fit!  You will learn tricks of the trade on how to fit your body perfectly.  Do all the necessary adjustments on paper BEFORE cutting fabric.  It is so very easy especially when most of the mathematical calculations are already incorporated into the "squares".  After finishing the 6 modules, the instruction book is completely finished and you will be on your way to realizing your creative dreams!  Learn how to make clothes that fit the body, not the body fit the clothes.

A garment a student sewed for a mother of the groom this summer.  Job well done!

"Cynch It" jeans to be on the market soon

Picture
Cynch it jean prototype soon to be marketed by a Canadian company to be announced.  The dress pants are already being sold in stores near you, just ask for them by name.  In Orillia Kelly's Klothing is currently carrying "Cynch It".  They are made from Italian fabric and fit like a glove!  The waistband (patent pending) moves with you while keeping everything in place comfortably.  Go in and try them on, once you get used to the feel of support no other pants will do!  Especially when going out to that all important function that you want to look and feel your best, get a boost of confidence as well as look slimmer and put together.   Seriously ladies you will feel a difference in yourself when you look in the mirror.

The Georgian Variety show, costumes by another student, she drafted the patterns and sewed them.  Excellent job!
