Not much to tell, I have been sick with a cold and something that's going around. It's been a couple of weeks that I have been feeling kind of not myself and finally this week I had to give in and admit that I have a cold/flu something! My "if I ignore it, it doesn't exist" theory somehow didn't seem to want to work so this morning I broke down and to the walk in clinic in Barrie.
If I ran my business like they run the clinics I would have been out of business so long ago it's not even funny! The clinic is supposed to open at 10 am, fantastic, I get there at about 9:50 expecting a few people in line already and sure enough there were 4 people ahead of me. Not bad in my mind I'm thinking about 15 minutes per person I would be there an hour or so, I can live with that. Well the girl waltzes in at 10:05 to open. We wait outside in the freezing cold a further 5 minutes for her to turn on lights and get things going! There is only one girl who has to do EVERYTHING, sign people in, triage them, answer phones and help people who are picking up meds at the pharmacy!
The doctor waltzes in there at 10:30ish taking his sweet time, the pharmacist shows up 10 minutes later.... When I had the restaurant and opened at 5 am I was in there at 4:30 to turn everything on and get coffee ready etc, wouldn't it make sense to be there EARLY to get things going and be fully staffed especially during flu season on a Saturday morning????? Our tax dollars at work!
So I wait and wait and wait for my turn, in the meantime I see people walk in, check in and are escorted to the see the doctor right away. hmmmm this is not right, so I asked the girl what is going on and she said with a big smile "we are taking appointments now so you don't have to wait to see the doctor" REALLY???? DID THEY NOT THINK TO SHARE THIS LITTLE TIDBIT OF INFORMATION????
Two and a half hours later with only FOUR people ahead of me I finally see the doctor for five minutes. All is well that ends well, I have a sinus infection so on drugs now to get rid of it, Merry Christmas to me!!!!
