Hello ladies you are doing very well deciphering the squares! It does take a bit to get your head around how they work but once you learn it will be smooth sailing into garment making.
Your homework for this week is to draft two back bodices; one using the generic measurements we used and in class for the story board and one using personal measurements. If you were able to do a step 5 in class using personal measurements that's fine, if you were not then you must also complete a front using personal measurements. Those of you who feel they need more practice please do a second story board using your personal measurements, repetition is the key here..... I expect by next week you will all be pro-efficient at drafting a bodice front with the base dart. I'm not concerned about the size of the base dart at this time there will be plenty of opportunity to make it perfect in the future, at this point it's the technique that I'm interested in. The numbers will come into play later when we learn to fine tune the patterns once the mock ups are done.
Have a great week!
