In class we discussed the raglan sleeve blouse that is fitted with darts using scale A instead of scale 1. I can tell you that the fit is incredible (you all know how much I don't like raglan sleeves!) but I have to say the dress I made and wore today was one of the best fitting most comfortable garments I have ever worn! That's saying something about the method!
Your homework is to finish the draft and tracing the pattern pieces using the generic measurements that were given in class. In addition you are to create the same pattern (master only) as on page 102 using personal measurements incoporating your own special adjustments to the base draft. I want to be sure the pattern is correct before tracing the pattern pieces and cutting the mock up so please bring it in on Thursday to have it checked once satisfied the pattern is correct then you may proceed with the rest of the work. Remember you are to add the fish eye darts on both the front and back pattern pieces.
Please have a sketch or picture of the jacket you would like to create as your main assignment so we can go over the design and decide how to proceed. The criteria is that style can be a bomber jacket, car coat or other style of jacket suitable for a raglan sleeve. The garment must be lined, have a collar and either buttons or a zipper at the front, the sleeves may be a contrasting fabric in colour and/or texture, pockets, can have decorative stitching. In other words get creative with your designs!
Have a great week!
