Hello ladies and can I say what a great job you all did last night in class! I am so proud of this class that I tell anyone who will listen about you :)
Back to reality, your homework for this week is to finish the pleated skirt (if you set a soft deadline of last week you should be done by now!) and hand it in on Thursday. The other thing is the godet skirt handout I gave at the beginning of the course from the old book two with the circular cuts and only one vertical seam at the centre back. I had the pattern in class last night and we briefly discussed it, I would not allow pictures of the pattern because this is an assignment that I want done strictly from the sketches on the sheets, the fact the writing is in Italian is of no consequence at this point students should be able to look at the graphic and figure out the pattern. This is due on Thursday as well and is worth 10% of the final mark. Please be on time with both of these assignments or there will be consequences.
The other thing we covered in class was the circle skirts and we are doing a mock up of the red fit and flare skirt on page 27. Please finish the pattern using the measurements provided in class 60 cm waist, 75 cm hips and the skirt length of 36 or 37 (whichever you used will be fine) unless you want to use your own measurements, most of the class had already finished this pattern...... So for next week please bring in your pattern, fabric for a mock up, fabric for lining, zipper etc. I will show you how to line this skirt and we can also discuss more lining techniques if you like so bring your questions as well as extra fabric and zippers! I look forward to the discussion. Please note the class will start promptly at 7:00pm
For the circle skirt on page 26 I believe the only thing left for most to do is the final Volant, you can do this whenever you get a chance and it is not due in class but make sure it gets done so you can have a good reference.
ciao and have a great week. Mona good luck on Sunday I will do my best to get down there to see your window, great accomplishment for you! Kudos!!!
