Hello all, just wanted to say what an amazing job students are doing in the class on Saturdays! Nov. 6 in only 3 hours students created a bias skirt and nearly finished the whole thing! The only task left to do is the hem and I am confident they will have that done in no time. A bias skirt is tricky because of the nature of the bias stretch but they were troopers and worked with it until it was done.
Next week a camera crew will be coming to film the class for a segment on an Italian talk show, not sure when it will be aired, I will be sure to post it on this site.
For next class we will be creating a gored skirt, students will create the draft in Monday's class and use it on Saturday. They expressed a desire to create a mermaid style gored skirt so the best fabric is something with a weight to it so it can drape nicely, also a solid colour so no print matching will be necessary, making life much easier. Please bring at least 2 lengths of desired fabric if it is 150 cm wide, more if it is more narrow.
That's all good luck next week and we will
