.I haven't had a lot of time to post on my blog because I had another project on the go that I wanted to finish to wear yesterday. What was the occassion you might ask? My answer to that question is simply nothing special I went to a medical conference for my mom, it's an annual thing the do at nursing homes, which is great because I talk to al her cargivers; eight in total and ask questions, clarify things and bring things to their attention. There was one thing that I took great delight in telling them about one of the caregivers who went way above and beyond the call of duty by staying with my mom in the emergency department on her own time after work! I live too far away to just go there and this happened on the day the intensive students were to arrive which put me in a bit of a predicament. My children were either working or away and could not leave so Mirella took it upon herself to stay with my mom who was really scared of being alone and not understanding what the doctors were saying. Well Mirella saved the day by not only staying with her also buying my mom some dinner as my mom is diabetic and can't stay without eating on time as any diabetic should not. It's stories like this that don't make the news unfortunately only catastrophes are reported that's why I chose to write about this to say there are good people out there if we only take the time to look.
So back to my latest project I made a new outfit, jacket and skirt since my last posting, the skirt is nothing to write home about only a pencil skirt that I chalked on the fabric didn't even make a pattern for it and it fits great! The really nice thing is the jacket that was made out of some fabric I have had for about 5 years and a few scraps of black boiled wool left over from my daughter's coat. I love the pockets! They are sewn on the inside, not an easy feat for patch pockets, because the jacket has rounded lines I could not see straight pockets so a design feature was born LOL! You can see in the picture the shape and detail, just to be different. The other thing is the large covered buttons I felt there needed to be something to break up the black so they seemed to be a good option. Comments are closed.
