Hello all just wanted to post a great big thank you for being in my class to all my students and being patient with me as sometimes the explanation of things eludes me, the work is easy and I do it instinctively so it just gets done then when I try to put into words, well that's a different story....... So last night while explaining the collar draft once again I had one of those AH-HA moments and so am now posting it, hopefully it will make as much sense to the students as it does to me! Please take a look at it and if you have any questions contact me for further clarification. Click here for document
For the cuffs, I did a very quick demo last night but want students to know that to properly install cuffs please create the pleats first, either pin or baste them in place, then baste the cuff on to the sleeve and only then machine stitch in place. Once that is done press the cuff and either stitch in the ditch or topstitch to finish, either way is appropriate, choose which is the most fitting for the shirt.
The second bridge is now available online to register. It will run from May 27 to June 27 on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. The class has decided that they want to be split into 2 groups, one doing dresses including a strapless, asymmetrical top, cowl neck top/dress and empire cut. The other group wants to focus on jackets and tops. Both groups will be doing an element of sleeves, neckline finishes and mock ups in this 30 hour course. It seems like a lot but my grads are up for the challen
