Hello ladies, too bad some of you were unable to attend last night's class, for your benefit here is a synopsis of what transpired:
class was divided into 2 sections to sew the skirt with rouching on the princess lines, one section was to pleat both sides first then stitch the seam together while the other section was to stitch the seam together and then pleat the front, we came together and discussed the findings once everyone was finished. The twist here was that this week's homework is to reverse the groups so the first group is to stitch the seam first and then pleat while the second group is to pleat first and then stitch the seam together (the front only). Those of you who were not able to make the class, sorry, you get to do both; only one has to be a finished mock up (doesn't matter which one) the other is only a front. We also did the skirt with the left front pleats and back box pleat, for the most part they were finished in class, the ones who did not finish are to finish it for homework. This is the other part of the homework assignment for the absent students. The class is also to choose one of the styles from the 3 we have done and make a skirt they will wear, it will be completely finished with lining, waistband and zipper. If you choose the asymmetrical with buttons down the side front, I will allow you to use snaps or other enclosures of your choice. This assignment must be handed in by the end of class October 31, 2013 giving you 3 weeks in which to complete the task; remember what I said about deadlines and setting a soft deadline and a hard deadline. There will be no extensions as the original time period was 2 weeks but it falls on the festival week that there are no classes so I extended it. Speaking of the Festival, it has been brought to my attention that students may purchase weekend passes online for only $5 with their student ID, that's right only $5 for the WHOLE WEEKEND! Have a great Thanksgiving weekend! Comments are closed.
