Hello all and sorry for the delay in writing, hectic weekend!
This week your homework is only to look at the pictures handed out in class, answer the questions and on the second graphic place the lines as you see them to re-do the dress according to the wearer desires.
Just to re-cap the wearer does not want the front empire point, she does want the back exactly as in the picture. The fabric used to create this dress is a stretch, the wearer wants a woven with no stretch. The only other criteria; she wants it in red.
Please bring your answers to class for a discussion.
We will be starting the top on page 77 on Thursday rather than the stretch, raglan tops due to a vote taken in class and absences during March break. All the work for this top will be done in class to allow time at home for the fashion show garment as well as the final exam. The description and a sample timeline for the final exam is below:
Final exam will consist of a fitted top using a woven fabric, the top must fit impeccably with no drag or pull lines, it must have sleeves either long or short they can be set-in or raglan, the top can be a tunic length or to the waist depending on the style chosen by the wearer. It can be made for the student or another wearer but the model MUST be present for the grading at the last class. Failure to hand in the final exam on time will result in a 0 mark; remember to set deadlines for the work required. For example have the concept ready for the second week of class, a mock ready for the 4th week along with the fabric choice etc, fit the top by the 6th or 7th week, complete the work by the 9th week giving a one week cushion in case of any unforeseen problems.
*A hint* It is difficult to fit a raglan sleeve on a larger bustline than a set-in sleeve.
