Hello all great progress! Keep it up and you will have 2 brand new garments to wear!
For your homework the students with the: Lined empire cut dress please cut out your pattern pieces on the fabric and bring them to class, you will be adding your zipper in class so please have interfacing for the zipper opening or fuse it on to the opening at home ready to go. You can do either an invisible zipper or a lapped zipper, your choice. On Thursday the zipper will be installed, the pieces sewn together and fit, straps (if any) will be positioned and sewn in ready to add the lining and hem on Monday. Strapless dress needs a light weight sew in interfacing; please bring in interfacing pieces cut the same as the garment with seam allowances the only difference is the interfacing comes to the waist and it MUST BE SEW-IN not the fusible one. Also bring in the boning (rigilene) for the princess lines on the both front and back as well as the side seams. You will be placing and stitching the interfacing, stitching the garment together, add zipper and fit the dress ready to add the lining and hem on Monday. Cowl neck dress needs only to have the back neckline finished with a bias strip as well as the armhole and hem, for the most part these dresses were almost finished in class so they can be completed on Thursday giving you a little extra time to spend on the lined garment! If you think back to the beginning how strange everything was and new and how everyone seemed to be all thumbs and now you are creating so many different things that fit impeccably, it's safe to say that you have come a very long way! If you follow the directions and do all the homework the garments will be finished with time to spare. Comments are closed.
