Well this very young lady never ceases to amaze me! She understands the concept of pattern drafting better than someone twice hear age! On Monday Isabella had all her homework done, 2 mock ups to fit and she came complete with models! Overall the fit was good, there were a few tweaks evident on the master pattern but nothing that could not be recitfied. I keep telling students that all the pattern draft is are lines on paper that can be erased and by making mistakes one learns even more so don't berate yourself or feel ashamed if something does go wrong, it's by far the BEST learning. Some of the most interesting design features and new concepts come from mistakes because in the words of Tim Gunn one has to "make it work!"
Homework will be to draft new patterns for mom and sister for sheath dress taking into account the adjustments and using correct ½ bust measurement, draft a mock princess dress and create a mock up using personal measurements. The back is a sheath back we will be covering the princess back at another time. \
Have a great two weeks!
