Hooray! Andrew has seen the value of making bespoke garments for women! I have been trying to explain the importance of knowing how to make ladies wear as well as men's wear and finally after several months he has seen things my way! A tailor doesn't necessarily only have to make evening or bridal wear for women, there are a lot of professional women who need suits and dresses to wear to work, they want to look stylish but professional and at the same time be comfortable while sitting at a desk or in front of people making presentations, the list can go on..... I think he has made a wise decision in not eliminating half the population from his repertoire!
So for this week your homework is to create mock ups for mom and sister with adjusted pattern pieces and fit them. I will need to see either pictures or meet on Skype to assess the fit. Also please purchase knit fabric as well as some rib-knit for finishing neckline and armholes to make a sleeveless shirt using personal measurements, cut out pattern pieces that were drafted in class ready to use the following week. The rib-knit is sold in the form of a tube so you will need to purchase only 30 cm, it can be the same colour as the fabric or it can contrast, that part is up to you. Have a great week!
