What a privilege I have had to work on something so special as this antique quilt! A client of mine asked if I could pull this off, of course I said yes! The workmanship is incredible all the stitches are even the silhouette when I held it up against the light was so unexpected I had to take a picture and show my client, she was not aware of it and was very happy to have not left it behind... To give the pillows a modern we added the industrial zippers, 2 white, 1 black and 1 navy all with silver teeth. I am very happy with the outcome as is my client.
This is not the first time I have had to make pillows from a precious item, a few years ago I made some pillows out of the train of a wedding gown, please go to the pictures page to see images.
I love my work!!!
Great job on the denim shirt Janet! So far it looks amazing I'm sure her husband will wear it with great pride when it's done! Janet even said she liked working with the soft denim so much she is going to buy the rest of the bolt! Wat to go, I love it when my students are inspired to create more and love what they have put together :)
Alas there is homework....
Homework is to finish the shirt and show it next class, trace the pattern pieces for the raglan pattern drafted in class and then draft another raglan sleeve pattern for a jacket using personal measurements. Next class is December 14.
Great job Janet!!! Not much longer and you will get your certificate!
