Hello ladies and congrats on a job well done on the drafting! I bet you never thought it would be so easy to draft skirts!
For this week's homework you were given the task of creating a gored skirt using the generic measurements of:
For next week we will be creating a gored skirt with a simplified method, a mermaid skirt using the previous method as well as a wrap, pleat and box pleat skirt style.
It will be really good especially since I can draw on the computer and have it seen in both Barrie and Owen Sound at the same time! Isn't technology grand?! Have a great week.
Hello ladies and congrats on a very successful first class in sewing everyone did a fantastic job sewing together a skirt and getting all the way to the waistband installation in one day!
For your homework, there is none! Nice enjoy it while it lasts!
For next week please bring to class your pencil skirt, we will be hemming them in class first thing in the morning so please be prompt. Bring in seam binding in the same colour as the skirt to finish the hemline which will be hand sewn, we will be practicing in class but the hem will be finished at home.
Next we are going to be cutting and sewing a gored skirt so please have the following:
Notice to the Saturday students please come to A221 on Saturday morning for your class. Thank you
Hello all for this week you are to create a pleated skirt using either a plaid or solid fabric. If using a plaid you are to cut the skirt free-hand as shown in class (it is very simple to do really!) if you are using a solid draft a pattern, add the pleat allowance with the paper before cutting. The style choices for the solid colour are seen on pages 18 - 20 of the instruction book. Choose whichever speaks to you.
These skirts are not lined, they can be buttoned down the front or with a zipper or a wrap style with clasps, your choice. You have 2 weeks to complete this task, if there are any questions bring them into class next week, if you are there early we can have an informal discussion prior to the start of class. Please note I will be starting the class promptly at 7:00 pm, it is a new subject and the focus will be on the new material during class time.
