Great job ladies to draft and complete shirt mock up in THREE hours is quite a feat! You did it and I could not be more proud!
Your homework is as follows: cut a new shirt using fabric leaving 2 cm seam allowance ready to sew in class using a flat fell seam. We will draft the collar and cuffs in class, bring lightweight interfacing for the collar and cuffs. Bring buttons as well for the front and cuffs. If necessary make any changes to the pattern prior to cutting as seen on the mock up and record them on the master pattern.
Please don't forget to make some more tops with the techniques learned in the previous three classes, the empire, cowl neck and asymmetrical tops. You have almost 3 weeks so keep busy!
Have a great time off!
Hello ladies yes it's almost the end of the module and that means the final exam for the dresses section, the whole section going back a couple of years to the advanced dresses. There will be a few questions from each section, not necessarily from every page in the section. I know it's a bit harsh to have you go back so long and re-learn everything but what better way to exercise your brains than to test them, just because some of the work is in the past doesn't mean we can forget about it.
It is only a written test with basic common sense questions, we did a review last class albeit interrupted review, but did cover some ground regardless. There will be pictures you will have to identify certain things and/or analyze certain styles, so if you practice writing down your findings just by using something like Pinterest you will not have any problems with the exam.
There will be no drafting involved in the exam, it should only take about an hour to complete and then you will have the opportunity to hand in your finished garment for the balance of your grade. It is due by the end of class NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE GRANTED, everyone starts out with perfect marks and will get deductions for every flaw I find.
Have a great two weeks!
