Hello all this is the last day of the intensive week. It just flew by and the student is doing a wonderful job and has learned so much. Today we are going to put the finishing touches on her top that must be handed in for evaluation and she is going to learn some new techniques on how to hem circle skirts and volants. In one week this lady has covered a bodice front and back complete with princess lines, added the skirt portion to create dresses; sewn together 3 mock ups, learned how to draft a cap sleeve, raglan for knits, set-in sleeve and is now going to finish a top with sleeves and embellish it with a peplum and volant at the sleeves.
Whew!!!! all this in only 5 days!!! Great Job Lori!!!! Hello it's been a while since I last wrote, I have been and still am at Georgian with my intensive student. She is feeling very privileged to have private classes no one else could make it so she is on her own and loving it! The progress this student is making is phenomenal she is already doing sleeves and has mastered the princess lines that were not even a part of the course. Yesterday she made not one but TWO mock ups! It must be a record somewhere for this accomplishment considering this lady had never seen the kit until Monday! She seems to have a great understanding of sewing and is grasping the drafting without a problem we are going to be doing so much more than the syllabus.
Having a blast indoors on these odd summer days that are cold and rainy. Keep you posted ciao Hello all and thank you for your patience in waiting for your grades. Today is the first day I have since class dismissed in June to finally think about marking! Between weddings, picnics, guests etc I haven't had 5 minutes to even turn on my computer but we are into the home stretch now and will soon be back to normal (whatever that is :)
Please check blackboard for your grades towards the end of the week. If you have any trouble let me know and I will give you your final mark. ciao |
